Willie Taggart has been a man on a mission since joining the Bulls last week, visiting in-state recruits like Asiantii Woulard, Leon McQuay III, & Travis Johnson. Taggart is going hard after in-state, local talent & is making it very clear he plans to be a player in the south Florida recruiting scene. For instance, Taggart offered 2015 Hillsborough HS QB #9 Dwayne Lawson last week. The 6’5, 205 QB is considered a pocket-passer, but is also a tough runner as seen in the below video against Armwood HS. In 2012 Lawson passed for 1,459 yards & 12 TDs plus jaunting for 426 yards & 5 TDs. The early bird tends to get the worm in the recruiting world & Taggart has proven his intentions.
January 11th will be a HUGE recruiting weekend for Taggart & the staff on hand. Until Coach T has a chance to add his staff, he is handling recruits on an individual basis. First up, Asiantii Woulard this weekend on his Official Visit which was confirmed by Bull247.com’s Josh Newberg. It’s crucial for Taggart to get the #1 Dual-Threat QB back on board.
Taggart also visited three-star, 77-grade North Carolina TE Lucas Wilson this week. Wilson is 6’4, 215 & fits like a glove for Taggart’s intended offensive scheme. Wilson, like many other recruits, are still digesting the ousting of Holtz & his crew. I’m unsure at this point when it comes to Wilson.
Taggart is on the move & so far I’ve thrilled with his efforts. Let’s see how this class pans out.
