Vic Rudd’s double-double highlighted Tuesday night’s 72-54 win over non-conference faux Youngstown State at the Sun Dome. Rudd finished the contest with 16 points, 16 rebounds, & went ¾ from the line. Notably, Rudd had 10 points & 8 rebounds at the break. The Bulls (6-3) shot 44.1% from the field (26/59) & 70.6% from the line (12/17). Anthony “AC” Collins added 14 points, 4 rebounds, & grew his season assists total by 7 (62) securing his #5 National Assists Ranking. A third Bull finished the evening with double digit scoring, Toarlyn Fitzpatrick with 11 points & 6 boards, a rarity for last year’s NCAA Tourney squad.

The Bulls interior defense & presence on the boards in the 1st half was lackluster to say the least. The Bulls turned it around in the 2nd half, holding YSU to just 27.6% shooting while sustaining a 13-2 run.

Video: There were three plays that showed the tempo of the Bulls offense Tuesday night: (1) Rudd’s 3 pointer capping a run that put the Bulls up 22-18 in the 1st, (2) AC finding Rudd for the backdoor alley-oop in the 2nd, & (3) AC man handling Youngstown State Senior Guard Blake Allen with his tremendous ball skills.

Up Next: The Bulls host Bowling Green this Friday at 7pm.
