Former South Florida Bull & current Minnesota Vikings Safety Mistral Raymond has led a journey to the NFL that re-coins the cliché ‘the road less traveled’. The video-biography delves into three horrific tragedies Raymond encountered on his way to reaching his dream of playing in the NFL. First, a Molotov Cocktail fueled fire engulfed & burned his home to the ground. Next, Raymond was devastated by the loss of his Mother, Valencia, to Cancer. Lastly, a stray bullet from a drive-by claimed the life of Raymond’s half-sister Myslene Gabriel, an innocent bystander.
After watching Mistral’s story numerous times & reflecting on his tragedy-laden life, I was left amazed by the resiliency & perseverance he embodied in dire situations. But it’s Mistral’s drive to remain focused, the mental tests he endured, & the non-existent ‘why me?’ attitude that left me truly speechless.
This narrated autobiography ranks in my top 5 for most inspirational stories hands down.
