Bayes Becomes Bulls First 2014 Commit

“Jimmy Bayes (Immokalee, Fla./Immokalee) has a Big East school’s 2014 class off and rolling.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete felt like South Florida was the right fit for him and his family and committed this week.

“It is close to home,” Bayes said. “It is a great environment with great fans to support the program. My family could make it to every game.”

Bayes has offers from Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Missouri, FAU, Miami and Western Kentucky, too.

The versatile Bayes would like to begin his college career on defense.

“Outside linebacker, because my athleticism will allow me to dominate that position,” he said, when asked what position he’d like to play for USF.”
