USF’s Charpie Goes 29th in MLS Draft
For the fifth straight year, the USF men’s soccer team had a defender picked in the MLS SuperDraft as Toronto FC took Wesley Charpie in the second round with the 29th overall pick.

Charpie became the sixth Bulls’ defender to be drafted in the past five years, joining Ben Sweat (2014), Brenton Griffiths (2013), Ashani Fairclough (2013), Aubrey Perry (2012) and Javed Mohammed (2011).

The Tarpon Springs, Fla., native was a mainstay in the USF starting 11 since his freshman season, starting all 81 games during that span. Charpie started his career as a midfielder before moving to right back his junior year. Since then he has helped USF post 16 shutouts while continuing to be an offensive threat with 12 assists. Continue Reading by Clicking Here
