The Bulls fell in three straight sets to Central, dropping USF to 9-4 (0-1) on the year in the AAC opener. It was a tough opening game from the start.

The Bulls dropped all three sets (21 to 25, 12 to 25, and 21 to 25) of this opening match. USF had a hit percentage of just .062 compared to .250 for the Knights. USF battled it out, but the Knights were too much throughout the match. Clara Payne had 4 kills, 2 service aces, and 1 dig. Denise Belcher had 9 kills (.267 kill percentage) and 8 digs. Dakota Hampton had 8 kills and 7 digs. Alex Mendoza had 19 assists and 12 digs. Amy Van Sant had 1 assist and 17 digs. Elyse Panick had 2 assists and 6 digs to round out the top performers for the Bulls (really need to get her going). USF just did not have enough on the attack to counter the Knights.

Senior Jale Hervey led Central Florida with 19 kills and 7 digs.

The Bulls will host Memphis on Sunday afternoon (game begins at noon) in the Corral as they continue AAC play and return home. Time for the ladies to get back home, regroup after this tough game, and get back in the win column in a competitive AAC conference.
