The Bulls, 11-3-2 (3-3-2), fell 3 to 1 last night to Memphis in a critical late season conference match. The loss puts the Bulls under the gun this weekend.

In the 3rd minute of the game, Serena Dolan notched a goal, putting the Tigers ahead 1 to 0. In the 8th minute, Valerie Sanderson hit a goal to make it 2 to 0 as the USF defense could not stop the relentless Tigers’ attack. In the 43rd minute, right before the break, Sanderson did it again (for her insane 16th goal of the season), making it 3 to 0 going into the half.

USF had just 4 shot attempts for the entire first half compared to 10 for Memphis.

In the 2nd half, the two sides would exchange shots until the 83rd minute when Evelyne Viens found the back of the net for her 14th goal of the season, making it 3 to 1, helping the Bulls avoid the shut-out. USF would manage just 8 shot attempts all game long compared to 21 for the Tigers.

Kat Elliott made 8 saves for the Bulls. Maryse Bard-Martel made 4 saves for Memphis.

With the loss, the Bulls sit in 6th place in the conference and will need to beat Tulsa on Sunday (game begins at 2 PM) to secure a spot in the AAC tournament next week. Nothing like some pressure going into the final regular season game, right?
