Welcome to our series chronicling the 2024 USF Recruiting Class! This series will breakdown every single recruit that has signed to become a part of Head Coach Alex Golesh’s first full recruiting class. (Having a full year to put a class together.) Help us welcome RB Alvon Issac to the Bulls!
RB Alvon Issac (Hawthorne – Hawthorne, FL)
Committed to the Bulls on July 4th, Issac is one of two running backs to commit to the 2024 class. Via Rivals.com, Issac received offers from Georgia Tech, Louisville, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Florida Atlantic and more during his recruitment.
Run the Tape:
“Gadget” player who was asked to do a little bit of everything on offense at the high-school level. Promising route runner who understands how to sell breaks in his routes to further create separation from himself and the defender. Due to his tools as a running back, Issac has the ability to be a tremendous YAC receiver at the next level. As such, Issac should find himself a home on special teams as a kick returner/punt returner. Great straight-line speed who can kick it into second gear at the top of his routes.
Mike’s Take:
When I watch the tape for Issac, the player that immediately comes to mind is current Bull Kelley Joiner. Now is there a difference between the two coming out of high school? Absolutely. Joiner’s high school tape showed Kelley as more of a runner than pass catcher whereas the opposite can be said for Issac. However, just as Joiner has begun to carve himself out a role as a receiver late into his collegiate career, Issac has already been asked to assume receiver duties while at Hawthorne High School. With that being said, will Issac tote the rock as much as Joiner or will he be utilized as more of a receiver at USF? Only time will tell for the extremely talented athlete out of Hawthorne who has already joined the Bulls since signing back in December. Welcome to the Bulls Alvon!
