WR Brandon Winton (Alcoa – Alcoa, TN)
Committed to the Bulls on March 25th, Winton was one of three receivers to commit to the 2024 class. Via Rivals.com, Winton received offers from Arkansas, Boston College, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky and more during his recruitment.
Run the Tape:
Dynamic receiver who can be utilized as the “go-to” WR for an offense. Easily kicks it into second gear at the top of his routes. Acceleration is noticeable when separating from defenders either in- and/or out- of routes or pulling away from the defense when the ball is in his hands. Yards after catch (YAC) receiver who will find himself yards regardless of the route called. Sure-handed receiver who will not drop too many passes no matter where the ball is placed from the QB.
Mike’s Take:
Winton is the total package as a receiver at the next level and is one of my early candidates to see action as a true freshman. One thing that I like about Brandon’s game is his versatility at receiver as he is not just limited as a downfield threat who can separate from defenders at the second level. Winton can be just as effective in the short passing game as a YAC receiver who eats up yards. Just how Golesh and Co. decide to use him is what interests me the most as I can see him doing a little bit of everything for the Bulls in the near future, but who knows?
