Recap: UCF vs. South Florida

Knights, Bulls Dunk Contest | by Matthew Manuri | SoFloBulls.com | “Anthony Collins’ fourth double-double of the season helped the South Florida Bulls to a 65-56 win over the UCF Knights in a non-conference bout at UCF Arena.

Collins scored 16 points and dished out 10 assists, and Victor Rudd also registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards for USF (9-3). Jawanza Poland scored 18 points, and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 10 points and three steals.

Keith Clanton had a big night despite the UCF (9-4) loss with 18 points and 14 boards. Isaiah Sykes contributed 17 points, five rebounds and five assists. The Knights did not get a single point from their bench.

USF shot just 36.4 percent from the floor in the first half, but it still held a narrow 28-27 advantage at intermission. Both teams shot 3-of-10 from three- point range in the opening 20 minutes.

The difference in the game was UCF’s inability to hit from behind the arc in the second half. The Knights made just 1-of-12 3-point attempts while USF hit four triples in the frame. The Bulls ended the game on a 13-3 run to seal their fate.

USF gets some revenge from a loss at the hands of UCF earlier this season and improves to 20-7 all-time over the Knights.”
