2017 WR Darrian Felix (Fort Myers HS)

In his second visit to the US Army National Combine in San Antonio, Texas, Fort Myers junior Darrian Felix certainly didn’t disappoint.

The rising Green Wave recruit graded remarkably well in his class for physical measurements in the 40-yard dash, broad jump and vertical jump.

Felix, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver who holds scholarship offers from Miami, West Virginia, Florida Atlantic, Indiana and USF, converted on a 4.3-second 40-yard dash, produced a 10 foot, 8 inch broad jump and soared to a 40-inch vertical leap.

“Overall, it was a very good experience to see the best of the best in the country,” Felix said. “And to go up against them, it was pretty nice.”

Six hundred recruits from across the nation were in attendance of the combine, spanning Thursday to Saturday of last week. It measured athletes across a spectrum of positions requiring speed, strength, quickness and skill.

Felix was joined in Lee County by Riverdale offensive lineman Finely Felix, who gained a qualification in March based off a Football University i350 combine and skills clinic in Naples, and Dunbar junior linebacker Shanon Reid (USF Offer).
