Volume number two in our second annual ‘SoFloBulls.com USF Football Highlights Series‘ is the USF man with the plan #MrVersatile South Florida running back D’Ernest Johnson (@DernestJohnson5) Career Highlight reel (2014-2017). DJ and I went back and forth selecting his best plays from his career in Tampa and without a doubt it will not disappoint.
Johnson finished 2017 with 796 rushing yards on 193 touches (4.1 yds/att) while adding seven touchdowns on the ground, pushing the Immokalee native’s career rushing yards total to 1,796 and career rushing touchdowns total to 16. Mr. Versatile also posted 153 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in 2017, making his 909 career receiving yards the most by a running back in USF program history. Johnson finished his USF career with 12 receiving touchdowns, while also tossing two touchdowns himself!
Johnson is participating in the East-West Shrine Game in preparation for the 2018 NFL Draft, and the folks here at SoFloBulls.com know DJ will make his presence felt next season in the NFL!! Deuce, never forget to come back home to Tampa!! #Bulls4Life
