Big East to Approve 2-Division Format

The BigEast announced proposed 12-team conference divisions for the 2013 & 2014 seasons & proposed 14-team conference divisions for 2015 today.

The proposed divisions would be broken out into East & West, then Red & Blue as follows:

BigEast Conference Divisions

Anyone else find parity in the 2013 & 2014 East Division…? Seems like Boise State will be representing the West in the conference championship with no real challenger for two seasons..

The 2015 Divisions of Red & Blue seem much more balanced in my opinion, but this set-up will require a 14th Team to be added. Time will tell.

Here are the proposed Annual Cross-Division Games:

How do you feel this shake up will work out for the BigEast? Stronger? Weaker? I’m honestly unsure at this point. Feel free to leave thoughts.

  1. The 2013 & 2014 seems lopsided like you said. Boise State will be coming out victorious both years without a doubt. I don’t think the new shake up will really hurt the Big East. We aren’t exactly a powerhouse as it is, and the only thing that is hurting us is losing West Virginia. But, we get Boise State in return, and UCF has been playing well this year and a couple years back. So, I think this will make us stronger (in football). Not too sure about basketball…
