It hasn’t exactly been pretty, but it’s been effective for Willie Taggart’s USF Bulls in league play. After Saturday’s 13-10 win at UConn, USF ran their American Conference record to 2-0 – tied with Louisville and Houston atop the standings.

That season opening loss to McNeese State? Old News. Getting handled by an awful FAU team? Forgotten. A shocking 0-4 start? Ancient history. In fact, scratch the entire month of September from your USF memory. It was bad. It was unexpected. But mercifully it’s over.

The Bulls are off to their best start in conference play in a decade – and have had to do it with defense and special teams.
