Why the need for the shakeup? Were these old staff members I thought almost everyone was replaced when Coach T came on board. I think the team performed about as well as we could expect coming out of the Holtz new era.
Nope, both guys were brought along from Western Kentucky. Sheridan was considered a on his way up like Willie. They were fired, in my opinion, for lack of offensive production on the field and on the recruiting trail.
Here’s pieces of Sheridan’s bio:
“A 2010 graduate of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Sheridan walked on to the Wolverine’s football team in the fall of 2006, and earned a scholarship prior to his junior season. He saw action in 12 games under center during his career in Ann Arbor, making four starts during the 2008 season. Over that time, he completed 70-of-148 passes for 701 yards and a pair of touchdowns. In one of those starts against Minnesota, he completed 18-of-30 passes for a career-best 208 yards. In fact, his 236 yards of total offense were the most by a Wolverine during the ’08 campaign.”
“Nick Sheridan joined the University of South Florida in December 2012 after spending two seasons on Willie Taggart’s staff at Western Kentucky. Sheridan was the quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator in 2012 after serving as the team’s offensive graduate assistant in 2011. Sheridan has grown up as a coach’s son. His father Bill is currently the defensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
