This weekend North Carolina State hits the Bay Area coming off a big win… wait, they only beat Old Dominion 46-34? The Wolfpack is now forced to face the fumble forcing, turnovers hounds down at South Florida.


North Carolina State is coming off the Wolfpack’s first winless ACC season since 1959, finishing 3-9 (0-8) under first-year head coach Dave Doeren. They add the eligibility of a key transfer in former Gators quarterback and Florida native Jacoby Brissett (Palm Beach Gardens-Dwyer) to bolster Doeren’s sophomore campaign. But Brissett will need serious support if the Wolfpack have any chance of righting the ship in 2014.

Maryland’s receiving unit was named to Lindy’s Sports ‘Top 10 Receivers’ list for 2014, dubbing Stefon Diggs as “electrifying.” The Bulls defense limited Diggs, the third-ranked ATH in the ESPN class of 2013, to just 50 yards on seven receptions (7.1 yds/rec) last weekend. Moreover they bottled-up Terps running back Wes Brown, holding the dynamic tailback to 61 yards on 13 touches (4.7 yds /carry).

This weekend USF must contain NC State running back Shadrach Thornton, currently ranked 5th in ACC rushing and averaging 79.5 yds/game (6.6 yds/att). Last season Thornton dashed for 173 yards and two touchdowns against eventual National Champion Florida State.
