Why No. 42: Taggart has the team back on track and thinking about a big-time bowl. Other than the game against the Seminoles, the Bulls will have a chance to win every game. Somehow, the team avoids the other American power, Houston, during the regular season. Running back Marlon Mack is the South Florida star, helping the team with 2,400 rushing yards the past two years. Quarterback Quinton Flowers threw for 2,300 yards and ran for almost 1,000. He will keep opposing defenses from ganging up on Mack. There is talent at receiver, where record-holder Rodney Adams returns to fill one spot. The defense had to replace coordinator Tom Allen, who left for Indiana. Taggart favors an aggressive defense that produces plenty of sacks and turnovers.
