The Bulls fell 1 to 0 last night to SMU, snapping their eight game winning streak as they fell in the conference opener (now 8-1, 0-1)

In opening minute, after a lengthy rain delay, the Mustangs went up one to nothing on a goal from Allie Thornton (her 9th of the season) from an assist from Hannah Fleet. Kat Elliott couldn’t quite make the save on the shot and SMU took the early, but commanding lead. The Bulls would be out-shot in the first half 2 to 5, but came out on the attack in the second half.
In the second half, the Bulls would win the total shots battle, 10 to 7, as USF put on the pressure, getting several looks including a rocket shot by Trudi Carter late, but SMU’s keeper, Catie Brown, made one of her four saves on the night to preserve the victory. It was just that kind of night for the Bulls.
The Bulls will continue conference play as they host Houston on Sunday afternoon (game begins at 1 PM) at Corbett Stadium. I would expect USF to come back this weekend fired up and ready to begin a new winning streak.
