USF women’s soccer won 3 to 2 over Tulsa on Sunday afternoon, securing the 4th seed in the upcoming AAC tournament. The Bulls finish the regular season at 12-3-2- (4-3-2).

In the 3rd minute of the game, Andrea Hauksdottir hit her 5th goal of the season (assist to Yasmine Hall), putting USF up 1 to 0. In the 4th minute, Evelyne Viens added her 15th goal of the season, extending the lead to 2 to 0. In the 6th minute, Tulsa got on the board on a goal from Alyssa Kaiser to make it 2 to 1 heading into the break.

In the 50th minute of the 2nd half, Viens added her 16th goal of the year on a shot from 25-yards out. With that goal, it ties a single regular season record in program history (she’s pretty good at soccer). In the 80th minute, Tulsa would make it 3 to 2 on a goal from Rachel Thun, but that would be as close as they would get in this game.

USF dominated the total shot attempts at 17 to 12. Kat Elliott made 6 saves for the Bulls while Rebecca Defer made 8 saves for the Hurricanes. USF came out on the attack and never let up in this game. They knew they had to win and they got it done.

The Bulls, as mentioned before, are the 4th seed as the AAC tournament gets started this week. They will be facing Cincinnati on Wednesday evening at 7 PM up in Storrs, Connecticut in the opening round of the AAC tournament.
