The Spurrier family reign at South Carolina has come to an end.
Scott Spurrier, the youngest son of former head coach Steve Spurrier, has been hired as an offensive quality control assistant on Charlie Strong‘s inaugural staff at USF. Spurrier spent the past eight seasons at South Carolina as a player, graduate assistant and analyst, as well as being kept on staff by new coach Will Muschamp following his father’s departure in 2015.
The youngest of the Spurrier clan was a walk-on wide receiver for his father at South Carolina starting in 2006, and worked side-by-side from 2014-2015 with both his father Steve and older brother Steve Jr. on the Gamecock’s staff. At South Florida, Spurrier will be working for newly minted Bulls lead man Charlie Strong, who worked for his father at Florida from 1991-1994.
It truly is a small world when it comes to the college football coaching circle. Lots of changes are happening daily in Tampa and national signing day is just around the corner, so stay tuned Bulls fans.
