It has been a quiet few weeks on the recruiting trail for the most part, but we still have news to update you on from September 8th – September 21st. Without further ado, let’s get after it!
Taylor Thompson Schedules Official Visit with USF:
The No. 2 ranked TE in Alabama Taylor Thompson just set his official visit with USF two weeks ago via John Garcia Jr. from 247Sports.com (VIP Member Access Only). The 6-2, 220 LB tight-end out of Prattville High School in Prattville, AL is currently ranked as a three-star recruit according to 247, holding offers from programs such as Maryland, Memphis, Toledo, Tulane, and UAB to name a few. The coaching staff has not gone after any other TE’s in this recruiting class besides Thompson, so keep your eyes peeled on this recruiting battle as the early signing period in December inches closer and closer.
Clearwater WR Keedrik Murray Still in Contact with USF:
Per John Garcia Jr. from 247 (VIP Member Access Only), Murray is still in contact with USF who was Murray’s first reported offer on the site back in 2018. Since then, Murray has picked up offers from Kentucky and Southern Miss according to 247, but my guess is that Murray’s recruitment will pick up once again with a strong senior season in store for the 5-8, 150 LB receiver. With the decommitment of Tyree Saunders back in August, the 2020 class currently has 2 receiver commits in Marquez Bell and Da’Quan Bailey-Brown, leaving the coaching staff room to go after another WR or two for the 2020 class. Expect Murray to be one of the receivers that USF continues to pursue as #RecruitingSZN continues to trudge on.
Michal Antoine Commits to Iowa State:
Per Twitter, CB Michal Antoine out of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL committed to the Cyclones on the 20th after previously listing Iowa State, Missouri, Minnesota, Boston College, FIU, and USF as his top 6 schools back in July via Twitter. If Antoine is to ever decommit from the Cyclones, I would expect USF to re-enter the recruitment picture along with the other 4 programs that were mentioned earlier. As for now, expect Antoine to stick with his Iowa State commitment until further notice.
