Just when you thought that the month of June was over, the USF coaching staff was able to land ANTOHER commit and transfer portal      addition in Gabe Nearly and former Rutgers safety T.J. Robinson. Covering the latest #Stampede21 commit and #TransferPortalSZN addition, without further ado let’s get after it!

#Stampede21 Welcomes S Gabe Nealy to the Class!

Former Michigan State commit Gabe Nealy out of Miami, FL (Gulliver Prep) announced his commitment to the Bulls on June 27th via Twitter, becoming the 11th commit to the 2021 class thus far. Nealy is currently ranked as the 76th best safety in the country, holding offers from Michigan State, Miami, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Louisville to name a few.

Mike’s Take: Film never lies and let me tell you, the versatility that Nealy offers in the secondary is why he has the offers that he does. His height/length is perfect at the safety spot (where USF is recruiting him at), but if you turn on the tape, you’ll see a cornerback that can cover as well as anyone else in the state. Position versatility is HUGE at any level and Nealy joins a secondary group that will be devastating for years to come.

#TransferPortalSZN Welcomes S T.J. Robinson to the Bulls!

Just when you thought that #TransferPortalSZN was over, in steps former Rutgers safety T.J. Robinson who committed to the Bulls on the 29th via Twitter, making him the 12th transfer into the program since Coach Jeff Scott took over in December. For the Scarlet Knights, Robinson logged action in 4 games during the 2019 season, collecting 5 total tackles on the season per ScarletKnights.com. Robinson will be joining the Bulls with four years of eligibility left after redshirting last season.

Mike’s Take: This move made a lot of sense for multiple reasons, but at the end of the day, the coaching staff found itself another stud on the back end of the defense who was actually committed to the Bulls back in March 2019. With Robinson heading back to Tampa, USF finds itself LOADED with talent in the secondary for years to come. All that is left now is seeing how these players develop over the next few seasons and finding out who steps up to the plate once the current vets wrap up their careers for the green and gold.

  1. Love hearing how aggressive the new coaching staff has become on the recruiting circuit. Need another bulkier running back with some speed as well as some more trench hogs on either side of the ball. Keep it rolling Bulls!

    1. They’ve been aggressive for sure, no doubt about that! USF could be in the works for a RB this class and with the OL, it should only be a matter of time for them to start picking up a few guys from there as well.
