#22Bullies Bulls Find Their QB for the 2022 Class

There might not be as many commits this class as in the past, but bringing in a QB was always in the cards!

The surprises keep coming for what the 2022 recruiting class might look like and even with us being just six months into the year, I’m sure that we will have plenty more to come moving forward until this class is wrapped up next February. Covering the newest commit to the 2022 class, let’s get after it!

#22Bullies QB Gunnar Smith Commits to the 2022 Class

It was only a matter of time for the coaching staff to land a QB and it looks like they’ve found one with QB Gunnar Smith out of Lake Mary, FL. Currently ranked as the 117th best QB in the country, Smith landed an offer from Kentucky as a freshman with Harvard and Columbia offers to boot. At Lake Mary, Smith will be a four-year starter holding records for career passing yards and touchdowns at the school. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Smith is ranked as the best 2022 class QB in the Orlando area (12th overall).

Mike’s Take:

Like many HS recruits that saw their recruitment go to the wayside due to COVID, Smith had a plethora of visits/private workouts scheduled with a few Power 5 programs over the summer before cancelling those visits after committing to the Bulls. If I had to guess, Smith would’ve landed offers during those visits/workouts as one of the best kept secrets at QB in not just the Orlando area, but the state of FL in general. Smith brings a little bit of everything to the table, great touch on passes downfield, athletic ability to be a threat on the ground, and a high ceiling to boot as someone that might surprise a few people down the road as he continues to develop. Welcome to the class Gunnar!
