USF Class of 2024 Chronicle: WR Joshua Porter

A quarterback's best friend...

Welcome to our series chronicling the 2024 USF Recruiting Class! This series will breakdown every single recruit that signed to become a part of Head Coach Alex Golesh’s first full recruiting class. (Having a full year to put a class together.) Help us welcome WR Joshua Porter to the Bulls!

WR Joshua Porter (Fort Meade – Sebring, FL)

Committed to the Bulls on June 4th, Porter is one of three wide receivers committed to the 2024 class (as it stands now). Via Rivals.com, Porter received offers from Colorado, Temple, Coastal Carolina, Western Kentucky, Alcorn State and more during his recruitment.

Run the Tape:

Lengthy wideout that will create matchup problems against smaller defensive backs. Fluid route runner who creates separation by selling routes at each break. Possesses a good feel for the red zone showcasing the ability to win against man coverage in that area of the field. Strong pass catcher who catches everything that comes his way. Ability to catch in traffic will make him a reliable target at the next level. More than willing blocker at the position.

Mike’s Take:

I’ll be honest, I’m excited about a lot of these recruits joining the 2024 class, but let me tell you, Porter is a heck of a player. A route technician, I was incredibly impressed with his ability to separate from defenders no matter if it was Hudl film (as shown above from his senior year) or clips of Porter on X from camps over the summer. Porter will find himself on the field at some point and will be productive. Call him a QB’s best friend! Welcome to the Bulls Joshua!
