USF Class of 2024 Chronicle: DE Ira Singleton

The Bulls DL just got a whole lot better...

DE Ira Singleton

Welcome to our series chronicling the 2024 USF Recruiting Class! This series will breakdown every single recruit that signed to become a part of Head Coach Alex Golesh’s first full recruiting class. (Having a full year to put a class together.) Help us welcome DE Ira Singleton to the Bulls!

DE Ira Singleton (Parkview – Lilburn, GA)

Committed to the Bulls on December 12th, Singleton is one of four defensive ends committed to the 2024 class (as it stands now). Via Rivals.com, Singleton received offers from Indiana, Charlotte, App State, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina and more during his recruitment. Singleton was previously committed to Miami (OH) before flipping to USF this month.

According to MaxPreps.com, Singleton finished his senior year with 65 total tackles, 27.5 tackles for a loss and 10.5 sacks.

Run the Tape:

Deceiving athleticism as a stand-up edge rusher who can drop into coverage if need be. Active with his hands at the point of attack. Elite pursuit to the ball who will run down mobile quarterbacks at the next level. Can (and should) be utilized on defensive line stunts up front and/or blitzing across the defensive front as a linebacker. Plays fast but shows the ability to slow it down and not over-pursue the play. Demonstrates the fortitude to defend the run off the edge and should only improve in a college strength & conditioning program.

Mike’s Take:

One of the more underrated signings in the 2024 class, Singleton plays with his hair on fire and demonstrates the necessary tools to be a menace off the edge at the next level. Singleton is one of those diamonds in the rough this class who can factor in early and often to a Bulls defensive line that looks to wreck havoc at the line of scrimmage. Mark my words, Singleton has the makings of being one of the best edge defenders in the conference if he develops over time. Welcome to the Bulls Ira!
