The Georgia Bulldog’s travel down to Tampa this evening to square off against the hometown South Florida Bulls. Like many others, I anticipate this SEC, Big East matchup to turn into a possession clash between two low scoring, defensive minded squads.
Shutting Down Caldwell-Pope is Key
#1 G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the ‘Dawgs leading scorer to date for 2012, scorching the net consistently via 17.3 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.5 APG & 2.83 steals per game. Standing at 6’5, Caldwell-Pope is a complete mismatch for the 6’1 (cough, cough) PG #11 Anthony Collins. Stan Heath will likely utilize the combo of 6’4 Guards #5 Jawanza Poland & #22 Shaun Noreiga & 6’5 #0 Martino Brock to detur Caldwell-Pope’s Friday night plans. Caldwell-Pope’s sidekick, #42 F Nemanja Djurisic, is averaging 8.5 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 1.7 APG & is coming off a last Friday’s season high 5 assist effort vs. E. Tennessee State. The 6’8 230 pound Forward will most likely be banging the boards against Bulls’ 6’8 Forward, #32 Toarlyn Fitzpatrick.

Anthony Collins is ranked 4th nationally in Assists per game, averaging 8.2 each contest, & is expected to be full strength after resting his calf injury this week. AC’s neck-breaking cut & second-to-none handles will be the distinct advantage that will lead the Bulls to a W this evening.
Final Score: USF 68, UGA 57.
