We brought the fire with the #20Strong USF Adds JUCO DT to 2020 Recruiting Class regarding the Sione Tuitupou commitment. Now we’re back at it with another recruiting update covering all recruiting news from October 5th – November 16th. Without further ado, let’s get after it!
WR Da’Quan Bailey-Brown Decommits
Via Twitter, Bailey-Brown decommitted from the Bulls on October 28th after previously being committed to the program since June 15th. With Bailey-Brown currently out of the picture, USF only has one WR left in the class in Marquez Bell. I would be surprised to see the staff only add one WR when it’s all said and done in February, so expect this position to be recruited heavily until then. Here at SoFloBulls, we wish Da’Quan nothing but the best in his future endeavors at the next level!
Offers Go Out to Several 2020 OL
To say that the Bulls coaching staff is trying to add another OL or two for this class would be putting it lightly. Over the past month, the coaching staff has extended offers to OT Anthony Smith, OT Jeremiah Crawford, OG Dawson Delforge (who recently committed to Kansas State via Twitter), and OT Zeke Powell. The 2020 class currently sits with three OL including Miller Merriweather-Lewis, Evan Webster, and Khristopher Love, opening up the possibility for the staff to add one or two more big guys up front before February. I would assume that four OL is the magic number that the staff is hoping to add unless the class loses an OL at any point before February.
Bulls Offer DL, Lose One in the Process
As a recruiting guy, the late offers to recruits are always the most intriguing ones to me. To stay with the current theme of the article, WDE Wesley Bailey out of Clearwater Academy International was offered by the coaching staff November 7th via Twitter. The 2020 class has yet to land a DE at this point, striking out on several targets such as Johnny Walker (Washington State), Stephen Passeggiata (Appalachian State), and Jerzhan Newton (Maryland). At the moment, Illinois and Virginia Tech look to be favorites for Bailey, but regardless, expect the coaching staff to make a push for several defensive ends before February.
This is a popular time for recruits to decommit with Early Signing Day less than a month way. With that being said, the 2020 class lost a good one with Gentle Hunt decommitting on November 14th via Twitter. There is a chance that the coaching staff is able to bring Hunt back, but I would put Middle Tennessee State as the favorite to land Hunt with the amount of love that the school has been showing him on Twitter over the last few months. Nonetheless, we wish Hunt nothing but the best in his future endeavors at the next level!
Who Does the Bulls Land at TE?
Remember Taylor Thompson? Last time I checked, the Bulls are still after him, along with JUCO TE Jacob Kainer who was offered by the Bulls on October 23rd via Twitter. To my knowledge, these are the only two tight ends that the coaching staff is going after at this time. With Mitch Wilcox graduating after this season, the coaching staff will look to add one TE to the 2020 class, going with either Thompson or Kainer depending on who commits first.
RB Taron Keith Decommits
Via Twitter, RB Taron Keith decommitted from the Bulls on November 16th, making him the 3rd decommitment that the 2020 class has had since October 28th. In his tweet, Keith mentioned that he will take his official visits and go from there regarding his recruitment, making sure to include that “USF is still and will be one of my top choices!!!” This will be an interesting recruitment to watch as I’m not really sure who else is in contention for Keith at the moment. My advice to anyone that follows recruiting is to monitor the official visits as this is usually the best indicator on where a player is leaning. With Keith, follow the OVs and the rest will follow.
Leave your thoughts and comments below and be sure to tune in next month when I update Bulls fans on all things USF Football recruiting!

Gentle Hunt is the only decommit that broke my heart. Definitely hope we can bring him back. He can definitely play freshman year
Loved his tape from his junior season. With the coaching staff not in place anymore, I think it will be a lot tougher to bring him back. Looks like he is a Middle Tennessee State lean as well.
