#22Bullies CB Tavin Ward Commits to the 2022 Class
It was all recruits on offense until now… Via Twitter, CB Tavin Ward out of Columbia, SC committed to the 2022 class on October 25th, becoming the fifth commit to the class thus far. Before enrolling at Palmetto Prep in South Carolina, Ward did it all at North Fort Myers, playing both sides of the ball before his time at the prep level. Based on his level of interest out of high school, Ward elected to go the prep route where he would receive interest from programs such as Wake Forest and Yale before committing to the Bulls. Before Palmetto Prep, Ward received an offer from Youngstown State. Tavin is currently unranked by 247Sports.

Mike’s Take:
It was only a matter of time for the 2022 recruiting class to find a recruit on defense. After watching the tape, there is no doubt that Ward can play on both sides of the ball (based on his time at North Fort Myers), but I was impressed with Ward’s ability to play the corner position especially in man coverage. The measurables are there (6’1, 190 LBs) with a 4.47 40 time (via Ward’s Hudl profile) along with looking the part from a technique standpoint which is critical to be successful in the secondary. Ward has the potential to be a lockdown corner for the Bulls and I’m excited to see him develop during his time in Tampa. Welcome to the 2022 class Tavin!
#22Bullies CB Tony Newsome Commits to the 2022 Class
Defense had to be addressed at some point and in a quick turn of events, the 2022 recruiting class went from one defensive commit to two in a matter of a week. Via Twitter, CB Tony Newsome out of Winter Garden, FL (West Orange HS) committed to the 2022 class on October 31st, becoming the sixth commit to the class thus far. Before committing to the Bulls on Halloween, Newsome received offers from Coastal Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Troy, and UT Martin. Newsome will be joining the Bulls as a safety.

Mike’s Take:
The biggest thing that I like from Newsome’s tape is his ability to wrap up and stick players on offense, a trait that can be hit or miss with some guys at the high school level. This makes sense to why Newsome will be joining the Bulls as a safety as the West Orange defender is no slouch when it comes to tackling. I like his ability to move to the ball as well, showing the potential to be a safety who is comfortable in coverage and making tackles at the next level. Look for both Newsome and Ward to be two guys that will be a factor in the secondary as the Bulls move forward past 2021.
