Coach Jeff Scott hinted at the coaching staff looking to add a piece or two to both the offensive and defensive lines on the team and by the looks of it, they have found their man in OT Zack Mendoza. Covering the latest offensive tackle to join the Bulls 2022 campaign, let’s get after it!
OT Zack Mendoza (Snow College)
Committed to the Bulls on June 22nd, Mendoza becomes the fourth transfer on the offensive line to join the Bulls in 2022. Mendoza had a more than successful high school career in Utah as a 2018 Pre-Season All-Utah Football Team selection, grading out as a three-star recruit on 247Sports. Mendoza took his talents to the JUCO level to gain more interest from collegiate programs and proved to be a standout at the NJCAA level as a 2021 First-Team All-American at Snow College. Mendoza has reported offers from FIU and numerous D1-FCS schools across the country with three years of eligibility remaining.
One of the main reasons that I love recruiting at the OL and DL spots is seeing how a player makes the jump to the next level. How do they grow as a player, can a coaching staff bring out the best in them and if their aspirations are for the next level (NFL, USFL, etc.), how did college prepare them to play professional ball? Mendoza is one of those recruits that has the potential to be a key part for the Bulls offensive line that will surely see a drastic change in 2023 when Jennings, Harris, Cecil, and Jacobs set their eyes on future aspirations. Keep an eye out for the young man from Utah… Welcome to the Bulls Zack!
