Here’s a refresher on what went down in Tampa in the 2020 edition of the #WarOnI4 Rivalry:
The South Florida Bulls (1-8, 0-7) took the field for the last time this season. Facing off against the in-state rival UCF Knights (6-3, 6-2), in what is known as the War On I4, the Bulls were defeated by a score of 46-58. Despite the disappointing outcome of the game, the score does not quite tell the story of the entire matchup.
Right out of the gate on the Bulls’ first drive of the game, the offense looked exciting. Not only was the offense exciting to watch, but it looked as if the players were having genuine fun, a feature covered up in previous losses. Despite not scoring on the opening drive, the offense, led by Quarterback Jordan McCloud, had given all USF fans hope.
The Bulls’ second possession is where things started to get even more interesting, ending in a 23-yard touchdown strike from Jordan McCloud to DeVontres Odoms-Dukes.
Now leading UCF by a score of 7-0, it was easy to tell that this game was going to be different. Different in a way that only true diehard USF Bulls fans could describe. But what was the difference maker? Was it the Bulls’ new “Slime” uniforms, or the fact that this game was being broadcasted on ESPN? Whatever it was, South Florida was playing its best football of the season (even better than the game they won against The Citadel, 27-6). The Bulls were putting all of their blood, sweat, and tears into this game.
I’ll never forget when Jordan McCloud MOPPED UP a UCF defender on the goal line in the third quarter:

The Fourth Quarter was nothing short of electric. Star linebacker Dwayne Boyles picked off Dillon Gabriel, igniting a deafening roar from the crowd at Raymond James Stadium. The play left USF fans on their feet screaming and high-fiving each other.
Off the muscle 💪

👉USF LB Dwayne Boyles (@Dreadhead_wayne) had an outstanding season for the Bulls. #BullyBoyles posted this interception along with 44 tackles (28 solo), 5.0 TFL, two passes defended & blocked a kick. Keep ballin my boy! #TNSF #US2F #SoFloDrip pic.twitter.com/hgUHF7sNAM
The Bulls racked up SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY SIX total offensive yards, good for the sixth most ever in USF Football program history.
