ILB Zavier Hamilton (Fort Walton Beach – Fort Walton Beach, FL)
Committed to the Bulls on June 17th, Hamilton is one of two linebackers committed to the 2024 class (as it stands now). Via Rivals.com, Hamilton received offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia and more during his recruitment. According to MaxPreps.com, Hamilton put up 87 total tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, 9 sacks and 1 interception during his senior year.
Run the Tape:
Plays his best ball in space where he can track down the ball carrier with top end speed. Flashes quickness off the edge who will surprise offensive lineman after the snap. Advanced pass rush skills for a linebacker who looks more than capable to move across the defense at multiple spots. Looks comfortable dropping back into coverage and should be effective in man-to-man coverage when asked to do so. Elite pursuit to the ball. Will create havoc on a defense that likes to play fast and aggressive on a consistent basis.
Mike’s Take:
One of my favorite recruits of the class for a number of reasons, but what really stands out to me about Zavier’s game is how well it translates to a Todd Orlando defense that plays as fast and aggressive as anyone else in the country. By the looks of it, Hamilton is a perfect fit to this linebacker room and if the goal for Orlando’s defense is to rack up TFLs in bunches (as shown this season), they found the right guy.
