2. Aaron Lynch, DE, South Florida
“Previous stop: Notre Dame. Lynch had an unsettled stay at Notre Dame, leading many to believe he was a malcontent who would not ultimately pan out. But getting back closer to home — Lynch is from Cape Coral, Fla. — has evidently had a calming effect on the hotly pursued recruit.
One AAC coach said he has heard buzz from Tampa of a matured version of Lynch, which did not thrill him. He said he was somewhat familiar with Lynch’s freshman year with the Irish (5.5 sacks), and he was complimentary of Willie Taggart’s potential for player development.
“He sounds like an all-conference-type of guy to me,” the coach said.
Playing opposite fifth-year senior Ryne Giddins should lend itself to additional playmaking chances for Lynch. The conference might be diluted, but there is talent in places such as Tampa, Louisville and Cincinnati.”
