USF fell 68 to 67 to George Washington on Saturday afternoon, dropping their overall record to 4-3 on the season. The Bulls had this game until a last second three point shot banked in in the final moments to beat Coach Antigua and his group.

In the first half, the Bulls led 35 to 32 after leading by double digits for most of it (where have we seen this story before?). USF shot 62% from the floor and led 13 to 10 in total rebounds. Troy Holston had 12 points to lead all Bulls heading into the break.

In the second half, the two sides would trade shots back and forth until late in the game when USF had the lead only to see it go away in the final seconds. Collin Smith, who led George Washington with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals, banked in a three at the last second to end the game and hand the Bulls the bitter defeat. This one will haunt the Bulls for some time.

Troy Holston had 14 points (4 for 6 from 3-point range) for the game. Geno Thorpe had 5 points and 7 assists while Luis Santos added 8 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. Ruben Guerrero had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Tulio Da Silva added 4 points and 4 rebounds. Jahmal McMurray made his 2016 debut (suspension) and added 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists (5 turnovers). The Bulls were glad to McMurray back and will him now more than ever moving forward.

The Bulls will head home to host Bethune Cookman on the 12th (game begins at 7 PM). Bulls will be able to get home, rest up, and get McMurray into the lineup moving forward. Time to move on to the next one.
